Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022

#People
This year’s International Women’s Day was an opportunity to honour the great contribution of women to our communities, to our business, and to restate our promise to build an equal workplace and to contribute to a gender-equal world.

The theme this year – #BreaktheBias – resonated particularly well with our collective commitment to fostering a safe and supportive workplace, while encouraging each of us to be our most authentic selves and grow in our personal and professional lives.

As part of the celebrations at URW, we held an exciting array of initiatives organised both globally and locally to accelerate gender equality within our company. Our special “Be You at URW” Conversation webcast had some very inspiring discussions focused on our shared commitment and accountability to increasing diversity, inclusion and equality within our Group – including our commitment to reach 40% or more of our leadership positions occupied by women as of 2025 – and how we can all play a part in breaking down bias in the workplace. To #BreaktheBias together at URW in 2021, 24 Inclusion & Unconscious Bias webinar sessions were delivered to 2,100+ URW employees.

We also made a call for action within our ranks to accelerate gender equality, and our incredible Be You at URW network leaders heard us and pledged to help #breakthebias! From taking a stronger stance in eliminating bias when hiring to forging a path for women through mentorship and championing gender balance in senior leadership, it was safe to say that our people are up to the challenge!

In all, International Women’s Day enabled us to reflect on the people who have come before us, and the women who have inspired and supported our people throughout their careers. In this spirit, we will continue to raise our voice against bias and be an advocate for women wherever we can.

Here’s to all of the women shattering glass ceilings, breaking biases, and making HERstory!
